I finally finished this scarf and fingerless mitts several weeks ago. A birthday gift for my mom – one of those “here’s the yarn I haven’t finished knitting up for you yet” gifts. These were knit from one skein of Madeline Tosh Merino Light in the Curiosity colorway.
The scarf was knit using the clove stitch, from Barbara G Walker’s A Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns, which is a variation of the acorn stitch. I particularly love the stitch as the reverse side is quite beautiful. The fingerless mitts were knit from the remnants of the skein, and are stockinette stitch with clove stitch edgings. I used just about every last inch of yarn on them too. Thankfully my mom’s hands are smaller than mine so they should work just perfectly.
